We invite you to join us on Saturday, August 31, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., for On the Wing: Stanley's 8th Annual Butterfly Festival. This festival celebrates our planet’s most beautiful pollinator: the ethereal and inspiring butterfly, and includes children’s craft stations, a seminar on plants that attract and support butterflies, local artisans selling their handmade treasures, educational exhibits, and a scavenger hunt/walking tour of Monte’s Meadow on the Davenport-Stanley Farm.

We are pleased to announce the event schedule below:

~ Children’s Butterfly Craft Stations - Children can join their choice of craft stations any time between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon. These are hands-on, drop-in events. All supplies for the children’s craft stations will be on hand and no registration is required. Children of all ages are welcome.

~ “Beneficial Plants that Attract Butterflies to Your Garden” seminar (in the greenhouse) - 10:30 a.m. - during this informal seminar, we will introduce you to the amazing plants that offer food and/or shelter to butterflies at some point in their life cycle. A walking tour from the greenhouse will follow the seminar.

~ Walking Tour and Scavenger Hunt in Monte’s Meadow - 11:30 a.m. - the Davenport-Stanley Farm will be open to visitors for a walking tour and scavenger hunt in Monte’s Meadow where many butterflies find food and refuge at this time of year. Monte Stanley and his wife Ann Whitney live in the historic farmhouse near the meadow. A portion of the Davenport-Stanley family home was built in the early 1800s.

All events will be free and open to the public with no registration required!
