Scientist, hybridist, gardener, and member of the East Tennessee Iris Society (ETIS), Robert Lauf will present a short iris workshop, followed by a wonderful opportunity for iris lovers! Bob will bring rhizomes from his personal garden to sell to our customers at Stanley's.
Each year, the East Tennessee Iris Society orders recently introduced iris varieties, and members, such as Bob, grow these irises in their own gardens to determine suitability for our climate. Thus, rhizomes offered for sale are proven growers in East Tennessee.
Mid-to-late summer is the best time to plant irises is July, August, or September, so take advantage of this great opportunity to expand or start your own iris collection.
It's always a good idea to come early to rhizome sales since some varieties can sell out quickly, so give us a call at the greenhouse (865-573-9591) to ensure that these rhizomes have not already sold out if you are coming late to the event on September 22.
