We are so excited to announce our fifth Annual Butterfly Festival with:
~ A butterfly scavenger hunt on Monte's Meadow at the Davenport-Stanley Farm! The tour will include the spring-fed pond and a look at the gorgeous pollinator-friendly flora and fauna that Monte and his ancestors have planted on the farm.
~ A hands-on children's butterfly workshop!
~ A butterfly talk led by Steve McGaffin, Zoo Knoxville's Curator of Education, Citizen Science Coordinator, and Green Team Coordinator; and director of the Tennessee Butterfly Monitoring Network. He is also a member of the steering committee of the North American Butterfly Monitoring Network. It is always a delight to hear from Steve!
~ Pollinator plant exhibits - learn more about the plants you can choose for your garden that will attract and support butterflies and other pollinators.
~ Baked goods, coffee, and refreshments will be offered for sale from our friends at SoKno Market. If you like what you eat at the butterfly festival, they are located at 2014 W. Gov. John Sevier Hwy. Check out their website at: https://www.soknomarket.com/
All events are free and open to the public. If you have questions, just give us a call at 865-573-9591. We will be happy to help!
