Rosemary -- A Super Performing Herb
Anna Montgomery
Rosemary is the most versatile, easy-to-grow herb for your garden or container planting. Here's why:
- Rosemary needs little or no watering to keep its woody, herbaceous branches healthy.
- The scent from rosemary is second to none for its fresh, clean smell--with perhaps mint, thyme, and lavender giving it a run for its money!
- For cooking, rosemary can be added to an amazing array of dishes, but my favorite is simply adding rosemary branches off the stalk to roast potatoes and sweet potatoes with a little olive oil for a divine dish in no time flat.
- My rosemary in the ground does not bloom which is an excellent choice for culinary purposes, but there are types of rosemary that bloom lovely purple flowers and thrive well in containers, even through our winter weather. Sometimes mine will actually be blooming in cold weather, which is quite a lovely surprise!
At Stanley's we carry many types of rosemary, so why not get three of four as I have and enjoy the flowers, the potatoes, and the amazing fragrance!
